ACCPU is registered with the Registrar of Companies as a Corporation limited by guarantee, and enjoys official consultative status with the Social Communications Commission of the Uganda Episcopal Conference.

Admission to ACCPU is by way of formal application, on a form duly signed by the applicant committing him, her or the organisation to abide by the ACCPU Constitution and after paying the fees appropriated.

ACCPU membership is in three categories for only those who qualify as members of the Roman Catholic Church. Full Membership comprises of active Catholic communication practitioners or organisations in Uganda, including those in affiliate practice such as production, circulation, management and sales.

Associate Membership is for students and interns working with Catholic media institutions, as well as regional or international media associations. Honorary Membership is open to eminent Catholic Church leaders with particular interest in Communications, but who are not necessarily practitioners, as well as retired Catholic Communicators or those who were once involved in communication work.

In order to realise our Mission, ACCPU engages in a number of activities directly or otherwise related to media and communication as long as it is in conformity with the values of the Roman Catholic Church. We organize training for our members, secure for them funding to pursue further education, help them get employment and to acquire equipment for their work among others. ACCPU also reports about religion and other issues of human interest and strives to be a leading source of credible news about the Roman Catholic Church. Not only in Uganda but the world at large.

The activities we engage in include media and publicity for interested clients and this can be in the form of magazine production, video and documentary production, photography, website construction and management and a host of others.

While ACCPU raises funds from its members, we also rely on financial support from friends, well-wishers and donors.

The General Assembly is the top most decision-making organ of the association and sits at least thrice a year. The association is managed by the Board of Directors which is appointed by the General Assembly.
